Am I A Business

How Do I Know If I Am A BUSINESS?

Visitors buying or selling in the course of business require vendor membership to advertise on My Craft Market

We define a business as anyone that provides a service or sells items for profit.

As a guide, the following people will require vendor membership:

  • Listers buying items to then sell online
  • Listers making items to sell at a profit
  • Listers selling items for others on commission
  • Listers providing a service
  • Listers offering employment
  • Listers offering business opportunities
  • Listers selling items that can be reproduced and distributed electronically (software, eBooks etc.)
  • Listers promoting a website (even if not profit-making)

We do however allow the following exceptions at our discretion (note that these may still be regarded as a business by the relevant tax authorities):

  • Services that are completely free (and do not charge expenses, and is not a promotion for other paid services)

My Craft market reserves the right to decide whether a a member does indeed require vendor membership, for example where they have multiple listings in one category.

Important

The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 requires all advertisements by people who sell goods or provide services in the course of a business to make that fact clear. The responsibility for this lies with the advertiser. It is an offense for a trader to pose as a private seller and you may be prosecuted.
